You don't have to have -- or even love -- cats to find it gross. (In fact, those of us who regularly empty our cats' boxes might find it the most stomach-churning.) What I found most alarming about this recipe were the careful instructions to put the cake mixture in an UNUSED tray and serve it up with a NEVER USED sifter. Egads. As if someone might think, "Heck, we'll just borrow Fluffy's litter box for Janey's b-day surprise."
I chuckled, and thought it was gross. Very creative, though...except the cats on whom the tootsie-roll-sized poo was based must be small cats, or mine are just extra-endowed in the pooping department.

Oh, that's just gross!!! Do people really think that is cute? And edible?
I LOVE the kitty litter cake! Okay, yes, it is completely disgusting, but it also cracks me up.
Maybe you have to have cats. Or a really lame sense of humor.

Ah. I don't have cats and am very very allergic. Perhaps that explains it?

Well, I'm not sure I love it to the extent of actually making and eating it. But I get a huge kick out of the concept. :-)

But no, I wouldn't make it for a party... :)
